Stokesley Probus and several guests, a total of 25, toured the National Glass Centre at Sunderland on Wednesday. The glass blowing demonstration was a wonderful insight into the making of what turned out to be a colourful bowl.
Lunch at the famous Bellini's restaurant was then followed by a tour around Souter Lighthouse on the coast near Marsden Village. Constructed in 1871 it became the first lighthouse to use electricity. A narrow climb up 76 steps gave a superb view even though there was a slight mist.
Thanks were given to Keith Waller, Probus chairman, by David Middleton for organizing the event which proved very popular with everybody
