Minutes of business meeting held at 11.00 on 12/09/17

There were 33 Members present and 8 Apologies. The Chairman welcomed back
those Members who had missed several Meetings.

The Minutes of the Meeting on 15th August were accepted as a true record.

There were no Matters Arising.

The Chairman informed the Meeting that Ian Mitchell who had only recently
joined the Club had resigned.

Alan Cross was present as a Guest of Peter Robinson.

The Treasurer informed the Meeting that the cost of the Christmas Lunch at the
Wainstones Hotel on 12th December would be £17. This is an increase of £1 on
last year's cost and is the first increase for six years. The menu will be circulated
in early October. The Secretary, Website Manager and Speaker Finder had
nothing to report.

The Members' Lunch will be held at Tocketts Mill on 4th October at 12.30 for 1.00.
Preordering of Members' menu choices will not be necessary, but the restaurant
would appreciate the numbers likely to attend. There is however, no reason why
anybody cannot just turn up on the day.

To date 14 Members and 10 Guests have booked to go to the Sunderland Glass
Centre and Souter Lighthouse on 27th September, with lunch at Bellini's.
Preordering meals would be a help to the restaurant. The Chairman requested
that payment for lunches be made to him and he will make a single payment to
Bellini's. This will save time on what will be a tight schedule. Pick-up times will be
08.55 at the Buck in Great Ayton, 09.05 in Stokesley High Street and 09.15 in
Hutton Rudby.

The next trip has been provisionally proposed for Wednesday 6th June 2018. The first part of the day will be a two hour visit to Ryedale Vineyard, north of York. This will be followed by a visit to either Nunnington Hall or Beningbrough Hall. The Chairman has emailed details of both National Trust properties to Members for their consideration. Both frequently have exhibitions of a high standard. There is no great rush to decide between the two, but Keith did point out that Nunnington Hall is on a more direct route home from the Vineyard.

The prizes in the Fun Draw were 2 books 'Downton Abbey - A Celebration' by
Jessica Fellowes, won by Keith Bell and Alwyn Boulby and a DVD of series 1 & 2
of Downton Abbey, won by Maj Chuhan.

The next Meeting will be on Tuesday 17th September. The speaker will be Jack
Moodie on 'Memoirs of a Customs Officer'.

Approved by Chairman Date.
