New Members & Guests

The following attended as guests today: - Bill Bradley, Terry Wilkinson, Richard Adams, Amara Jayaweera, & Ron Marshall. Two new members introduced themselves.   Jim King was born in Thornaby & trained as a teacher at York. He taught in London but preferred to return to the North -East & taught at Marske, Grangetown & Middlesbrough. His hobbies include photography, cycling & walking. He has a son & a daughter & has now found a new & very rewarding occupation, minding his grandchildren.  Derek Whiting was born in Middlesbrough & his main hobby is photography. He also writes articles for local publications such as the Town Crier& Stockton & Darlington Times.


A new Stokesley Probus website has now been created by Stefan Barnes. This site now contains details of The Menu & coach pick up times for the Theatre Royal visit as well as details & dates of future events & lunches. Tickets for the show ‘High Society’ at the Theatre Royal were distributed.


The members were reminded that nomination forms for the election of Committee Members need to be submitted at the March meeting.  A revised constitution is proposed to meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act, the needs of our insurance & to vary the roles & tenure lengths of Committee members. This document is available on the website & is for adoption at the 2013 AGM.   Alan Marchant has agreed to continue as Auditor next year
